Our Anniversary!

Milt and I had our 4th anniversary on the 30th of December and were lucky enough to have some of our good friends out here be willing to watch our kids overnight so we could go somewhere just the two of us. We went to Virginia beach for the first time! It was so great! When we got there Milt took me to a lighthouse (Cape Henry) there was actually 2 lighthouses next to each other which I thought was awesome since I'd never seen a lighthouse before. We were able to climb the stairs to the top of one of them, Beautiful! There's also a boardwalk that runs along the ocean side that we walked down. They still had all their Christmas lights up that line the board walk so we were able to see the lights. It was a little chilly so we got some hot chocolate on the way back. We walked a long way, but it was really fun to walk along the beach, see the lights and talk with my best friend! I know it's corny but It reminded me of when we were dating, It was really fun! Then we went to our hotel and we were able to get a room overlooking the ocean, Very Romantic! Won't go into details :)  but we woke up early to watch the sunrise over the ocean!  The next day we went to a really neat acuarium and saw lot's of ocean life. We also went whale watching, But unfortunately we didn't see any Whales so It was really just a 2 hour cold ocean boat ride, it was fun anyway though. on our way home we stopped and ate at Olive Garden. It was an awesome anniversary! My husband is so great! I didn't even know where we were going, oh, and he also bought me some very cute shoes to go with the very cute skirt he got me for Christmas! I Love you Baby!  

 

Christmas!

Ok, now for Christmas and only a month late too. We had an awesome Christmas! We really missed family, but it was fun to do our own thing for the first time. Our kids got spoiled as usual, they got so much stuff that we are really struggling even still to try to find a place for it. Christmas Eve we each opened a present(Pajamas), and we gave the kids a book that we had made up for them with pics of my family and Milt's family. I wanted something that the kids could look at so they always have a way to look at and remember their Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandmas and Grandpas, it turned out really cute and Elli loves it!  Santa gave them each a little board game, a bunch of Dr. Seuss books and a Thomas Train set. He also gave Elli a Doctor Kit and a Barbie, which is what SHE asked for with absolutely no help from anyone. Shawn also got Mega blocks and a  Handy Many figurine with some tool boxes, the tools jump up and down and sing (very cute!) He loves that thing! after he opened that he could care less about anything else. He got really angry with us when we would try to get him to open up more presents. He just kept pushing the button and dancing with the tools. Milt and I got a Wii fit. It has been so fun! It's a nice convenient and fun way for us to get a little exercises in, Elli even likes to play. The kids also got a Ton of stuff from everyone else! Thanks Grandma Rass, for the bobble head train and for the Build a bear (or Kitty)! Thank you Grandma Poll for all the clothes, The Beautiful Greg Olson book! and other fun stuff. Thank you Grandma Grover for the food storage! and Thanks to Rick and Chan for the little people Barn!  Also thanks to all who sent money for my Birthday or Christmas! Just so you know I put it all together and got an ipod Touch! Yea! I love it! We had a great Christmas, but we sure did miss Family! We love you all!

James and Martha's place!

 Sorry I haven't updated my blog for a while. Life was kinda busy There for a while, it was actually kind of nice. I have a lot of posts to catch up on so I will start with the oldest one first.

We have a couple of great friends who we met when Milt was in under grad. He went to school with James and we started doing things with him and his wife Martha. Martha and I hit it off right away and became instant friends. Then they moved to Philly for medical school one year before we moved.  Now we live just about 4 hours away from them assuming we don't hit traffic (which almost never happens on the east coast), So we decided to visit them right before Christmas. It was Sooo much fun to see them and we had a great time too! They took us around Philly and we were able to see so many neat things there. We went to independence hall and we were able to see the liberty bell! Very cool! they also took us to New York for a day, which was awesome all except the part where it was freezing and Shawn started screaming about half way through and didn't stop, poor thing. Needless to say the kids didn't enjoy that part of our trip very much, but I thought it was awesome! We didn't have a lot of time, but were able to see some really cool things. We took a ferry across from New Jersey and passed the statue of liberty on the way, that was cool! Then we hopped on the subway and went to were the Temple is. It was really neat to see that, It was so different from any other temples I've seen. It was just right there when we came up from the subway and it wasn't real noticeable because it kinda blends in with the rest of the buildings there, Martha had to actually point it out to me because I didn't see it right off. We ate at a really yummy pizza place that I can't remember the name of and I don't know exactly where any of these things were so I'm glad we had people with us who had been there before because I would have been lost long before we ever got to this point. Anyway, then we decided to walk through central park, it was fun to see the big fountain and there were a bunch of horse and buggies and we saw people Ice skating. It was fun to see some snow too because we haven't had any in Virginia. Then we walked over to see Rockefeller center. We didn't stop any were very long, We couldn't really with the insane crowds and Shawn screaming his head off, But we saw the window displays  at Saks as we passed and the big Christmas tree that looks a lot bigger in movies but was still fun to see. We were going to go to Macy's, but between Shawn and all the crazy people we decided just to walk by times square, Hop back on the subway, and head home. Shawn stopped crying after we got on the subway thank goodness. I don't blame him for screaming, He had so many clothes on he couldn't move, it was cold, and he was tired and couldn't sleep. We were able to see the statue of liberty all lit up on the way back too, so that was awesome! We also visited an Amish community in a little town called intercourse! He He! It Was really a lot of fun. Elli loved Martha, (I don't blame her because Martha is great!) and by the time we left she was even pretty comfortable with James. Thank you both so much for having us and for showing us around!    

We don't have Pics of New York yet because we were stupid and forgot our camera, but luckily the other cute couple that went with us had theirs so I will add them later.
